The Birthday

Poor Jeff (such a good husband) wants to do something special for my birthday tomorrow and I told him not to plan anything because I'm going to Bootcamp after work! He gave me a perplexed look, the kind of look guys give you when they want to be relieved but are afraid it's a trick....like when a girl says 'I'm fine' but everyone knows when a girls says that she means the opposite. But in this case, I really do just want to go to bootcamp, come home, maybe break my rule of no drinking during the week and open a nice bottle of wine. If I know my Jeff, he will still have some sort of surprise.

Thursday we are meeting up with the SD crew for a few birthday drinks at Venice in La Jolla. I've heard so many good things about this place from Annie and Nate I can't wait to check it out. Friday or Saturday Jeff and I will go out to a nice dinner at Cafe Luna. A fabulous restaurant Mel G turned us on to, and best part is that it's walking distance! That's what happens when you turn 31. You exercise on your birthday and only go out to celebrate somewhere that is walking distance from the house. Quite different from the bday Beach House/police/stolen keg/100 strangers in the living room/dented Suburban party I had on my 25th!

I am a little sad to be turning 31. Not because it is a year older but because so many good things happened in my 30th year. Getting engaged, getting married, Jamaica......the best part about being married to my best friend is knowing that our journey has just begun and there are still so many things to look forward to!
